Comment: I love the high energy and love I feel whenever I’m on the campus of Los Angeles Trade Technical College. From the President Instructors and frontline staff LATC, it has the feel of a family on purpose to facilitate the development of professional level technical skills. I’ve gone from student to proud parent of a student in the Design and Media school. Last night we attended the Golden Thimble fashion showcase, and it was a stone-cold blast. The theme of the show is Soul Train. Many of the schools on campus come together to put on a fabulous fashion show production. Enjoy the show through my eyes.

Comment: I finished the Electrical and Maintenance program of Fall 2022 and I can confidently say this is a really good opportunity for those willing to learn a specialized trade and make an excellent career out of it. I managed to graduate debt free with an associate degree thanks to some of the programs like EOPS and College Promise. The campus itself may not be nice like at ELAC, but the people here for the most part are friendly and welcoming. The education I got here is practical and up to date and would suggest those wanting to work in the electrical industry to study here. The only thing I had to pay out of my pocket would be the tools, but that’s a small price to pay for, for investing in the future.

Comment: I am currently in the third semester taking the carpentry program. Los Angeles Trade Technical College is a great school. October will be 3 years that I have been attending this college. I also got my GED through Trade Tech.The majority of the professors and staff are very respectful and kind.Update I finished the carpentry program and found a job in the construction field with great pay. I would definitely recommend Los Angeles Trade Tech Technical College to someone that wants to learn a trade or just take some classes. If you do decide to go put all your effort in your studies it will pay off.

Mr. Rochford, M video class will go further than above and beyond, Dr. Navarro will show you the way, Mr. Maroufhkani will open your eyes, Mr. Caesar in the graphic arts department will teach you how to be the best, professor Oliva at the architecture department will inspire you. All of these professors actions interchange with each other as well. If you are not sure what to study and are fearful of college go to the architecture department. The amount of resources there is amazing.

Comment: FASHION DESIGN PROGRAM: if you have a desire to get into the fashion industry quickly and with great skills? Than you should truly consider this school. Especially when you take into account; the cost of its nearest competitor whos name starts with a F and ends with a M. The industry is looking for skilled employees!! Hence, a Certificate/Diploma from LATTC verse the other school isnt going to make a difference. Youll prove your worst during your skills test. LATTC has well qualified instructors, whom have actually worked in the industry. Theyll give you the skills needed. P.S. Here are some of their excellent instructors; Mr Walker, Mr Gamlowski, Ms. Kim, Ms. Siccardi, Mr Naranjo, Ms. Drebskaya. Oops, and of course Mr Alcala.I must admit the campus isnt great compared to the other community colleges but the students arent there for the appearance, theyre there to acquire the needed skills to success.The only downfall that Ive noticed is their financial aid system. Students are stuggling to get their monies on time. (I dont get financial aid myself!) Thus, why and whos responsible, I cant really say?? Im guessing youll need to learn how to navigate the system quickly.

Comment: I transferred from a different community college due to traffic and classes.When I was emerging to attend Trade Tech I honestly, had a tough time with all offices in campus. I mean all of them! I felt uncomfortable most of the time, I literally felt stupid trying to do better, and I couldn’t ask questions because I felt dumbed down..Until I started my classes that’s were everything changed. The professors are the reason why I’m still in this school. It matters to them that you try to do well and actually understand the material throughly.Once you get passed all the office work, everything will fall in it’s place. Best of luck!

Dont be turned off by the gritty look of the campus, inside those walls excellence is being performed. The world renowned chefs are demanding, but fair. Youre gonna grind or youre gonna drown! I wasnt the most skilled, but showed up EVERY DAY regardless of time and went to work! Great value for the price ($46/ credit hour), wont put you in huge debt like some other schools. Comment: I went here for the Chemical Technology program and I must say I was skeptical at first but looks are deceiving. This was by far the best college experience I have had. The staff and the professors here were awesome, especially professor Renee Madyun. Since graduating with my Chem Tech degree I have worked in R &D , Pharmaceuticals and currently make a six figure income working in the oil industry. The school might not look the best or be in the best neighborhood but the programs they offer are some of the most respected in the state.

Comment: Great school. The fashion design program is very rigorous and because of this, deservingly, is extremely respected in various arenas of the fashion industry in la. However working and going to school can get rough because the programs demand a lot of your attention. Luckily the work study programs on campus can be a mildly lucrative alternative. I quit my $11.00 part time off campus to start a 13.88 job on campus which also offered more hours. The student help programs are great too like EOPS, Umoja, and RISE. They really make sure youre on track with your academic goals and help with resources too. My only disappointment is the schools handle on financial aid. There needs to be a better system in place. There is a big chance you WILL receive your funds LATE, Also staff is only knowledgeable to a certain extent then your just SOL. Overall Im happy I didnt judge the book by its cover. Its something very special happening on that campus. Looking forward to graduating with my AA in fashion design and English. Wish me luck! :)) God bless LATTC

President Larry is a really neat, cool and professional man, he will laugh and talk to everyone. You can learn a lot of education here, and recieve college credits a lot cheaper. They now have many activities for the students to participate in, the free music and food events help the students when we are low on funds and boost our morale. Thanks to all the organizations that do this. To the students, continue to build good relationships with other race of different students, it will help all of us. Much love!!

Comment: TO WHOM - Great experience with a lot of potential if one is willing to give it all they have.Graduated in early 60s with a two year AA degree in Air Conditioning Engineering from LATTC. I went there to apply for their Refrigeration Course but happened to run into Mr. Robert Berwick who thought I should sign up for the Engineering Course instead. I did. I made the most of it after graduating for several years designing systems for churches, commercial, hospitals, industrial and many professional buildings. However, somewhere along the line I hadnt thought it through and needed to begin planning ahead. For example, one miss-calculation on my part was moving out of the LA area, which hires all-kinds of Engineers. So if your a young person, think about that. The area I moved to wouldnt support educated engineers because there wasnt any demand for them (draftsman were doing HVAC work.) Also, just about anyone and licensed contractors could design a HVAC system. Not the learned type of a schooled design system but a system just like the one down the street. So what happened is, my interest in the field waned due to low pay. I was senior man in the Mechanical Engineering Office for sure, but the struggle to stay above poverty got to be too much. Long story short: I had to reinvent myself and move on. LATTC got me up and moving though and I thank them for that. I know of several other people who benefited from their schooling there. A fellow graduate, a chef, a sign painter, and a dress designer. I hope this helps someone to think ahead and plan accordingly. Regards, Richard
