Comment: We didnt order food, but did order well drinks. The bartenders werent rude, but not very friendly or attentive either. Guests were very friendly and seemed happy. The bar is very spacious, clean, and fresh. The music was good and at a proper volume where you could carry a conversation without yelling at each other. There are social games available.

I would say I was a regular there but it was a the bar I would most visit and suggest. Last ight 08/08/2021 was the first time back in 3 years ears. I know the pandemic has hit a bunch of people hard and made some people more irritable (including some of the staff). I have been coming to this spot for the past 6-7 years and although some of the furnishings inside may have changed, the attitude and the energy is still very much the same.Everything from their weekly happenings (Thursday Night Tacos, Tuesday Trivia Nights, MLB season games, etc.) to their awesome bartending, you will find yourself feeling comfortably at home. The beer that they have available boasts a great variety, many of which are breweries that are located within the LA county so you will always find your drink here.Location wise, the Verdugo Bar is not too far from the 2 Freeway which makes it super accessible although be warned that parking is something that may be a problem. Worst case scenario: drop off your friend to get yourselves a table while you go looking for a parking spot.I find that the weekends can understandably be a bit busy but if you are ever looking to do a weekday bar trip after work or a long day, you will find the bar empty and to your liking.

Comment: Small dive bar with a killer patio space. Was a great place to hold a a daytime party event, as the outdoor space was pretty spacious. At night though it becomes your regular dive bar, with nothing particularly spectacular about it. Its just a good venue/event space.

Comment: One walks into a low key, dimly lit atmosphere once they pass the threshold of Verdugo. It’s not just any low key spot though, considering the different arrangement of booths aligning the wall, the small tables in between those booths and the bar, and then the DJ booth up top peering through a small window in the wall. We watched my buddy from Sheboygan, WI play some jam focused lo-fi here, so that says a shred about their music expression.Once one walks past the DJ booth, there are bar games, tables, and bathrooms. Following that is a chill and inviting outside area with plenty picnic tables.

Comment: I love this bar. Has a great selection of craft beers and ipas. Great knowledgeable staff who are very attentive. Travis and David are kool people. They have a photo booth, board games a great back patio with a food corner often serviced By Chef Matt. Sometimes they have food truca when he is not available. I recommend it anyone who wants good beer and a great atmosphere. Fridays and Saturdays are the best with a dj spinning or if you just want to chill hit any other day and they also have trivia nights on Tuesday

If youre looking for a great stout/porter tap list, this is your place!As for the vibes, the inside is incredibly dark with a long bar and large leather booths, giving it an old LA dive bar feel. But there is a huge outdoor patio area that offers a nice, well lit contrast with lots of picnic tables, umbrellas and heat lamps (if needed). Parking can be a bit tricky (all street parking) but its in a residential area so its a nice walk if you park further away. I will be back!

Comment: Bar in the middle of nowhere but with great selection of beers, shots and cocktails and an outdoor patio beer garden style. Music is good. Reasonably priced. Worth mentioning the tacos spot in the same street that sells $1 tacos at late hours. Definitely worth a visit since Verdugo bar does not sell any food.

The salsa was so fresh and had a delicious fire roasted flavor. The guacamole was off the hook. I has the octopus and the shrimp tacos. Much preferred the shrimp. We also had the Elites.

Comment: Located in a quaint area of Highland Park, Verdugo Bar is a gem off the beaten path. The outside of this place is not indicative of the inside. I happened to go on a Monday evening; seating was plentiful both inside and out back in the patio. There is a variety of draft and bottled craft beer. Each is priced accordingly to the mode of production and ingredients.My old go-to bar has become too hipster and pretentious for me. I think I have found myself a new go bar.

Comment: Have only gone on weeknights, fairly empty although I hear it can get packed. Great beer selection if you like specialty beers. Parking is street, but pretty easy to find. Bar is hidden, can be hard to find if you have never been there before. Good spot for a date if you want somewhere quiet.
